MarkX Oil Pressure Warning Light

My 2010 Toyota MarkX with a gasoline engine is throwing some odd errors. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up, and I'm getting a warning light on the speedometer. Car diagnostics shows an error stored related to the engine oil temperature sensor. Mileage is at 71567 km. Could a defective cable or plug connection actually cause this?

I have a MarkX too, and that sounds suspiciously like what happened to mine a while back. The oil gauge was acting funky, and the car went into some kind of limp mode. Was the car acting weird or just the light?

Just the lights and the stored error, no noticeable change in engine performance. Did yours behave the same?

Okay, mine was definitely sluggish. If you aren't noticing any performance issues, it could be just the sensor or the wiring. Still, I’d suggest getting it checked out by someone who knows their stuff. When mine went, it was a faulty sensor and a frayed wire. Got it sorted at the local garage.

Thanks for the info! I had it checked out. Turns out it was indeed the cable and plug connection to the sensor, just as suspected. Repair cost came to 95€. Appreciate the insight!
