Master Diesel Drift Compensation Issue

Having a nightmare with my 2017 Renault Master diesel. The engine's running super rough, the check engine light is on, and I keep getting this error about 'reset quantity drift compensation'. I think it has something to do with the fuel injection, possibly a defective injector valve or injector. Has anyone dealt with drift compensation issues before? What car sensors are involved? Is it something I can reset myself, or am I looking at a trip to the shop? I've run onboard diagnostics, but it's still not clear. I'm at 217810 km and getting seriously frustrated!

Ugh, that sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa – though it wasn't exactly the same error message, it was definitely something to do with the fuel injection system. Is the 'drift compensation' part of the ECU trying to adjust for wear in the injectors? Does it happen only when the engine is cold?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I think the 'drift compensation' is supposed to adjust for the injectors wearing out over time. It seems to be worse when the engine is cold, you're right! What exactly was wrong with your Corsa, and how did you fix it?

Okay, so with my Corsa, the ECU couldn't compensate anymore, and the engine was misfiring like crazy. Eventually, the mechanic told me one of the injectors was shot. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop. Messing with fuel injection without the right tools and knowledge is asking for trouble. It cost me 515€, but at least it's running smoothly now.

Thanks so much for the advice! Sounds like I'm heading to the shop then. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. Hopefully, it's just an injector and not something more complicated.
