Matrix low heat output and error code
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Toyota Matrix owner reported low heat output and an error code, suspecting a coolant leak or water valve issue. Another Matrix owner suggested checking the water valve and wiring, as they had experienced similar symptoms. After checking the coolant level and connections, the owner took the car to a workshop, where it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a defective water valve and plug connection.

Yes, the engine coolant level is fine. Where exactly is the water valve located, and what kind of wiring issue did you experience?

In my case, the issue was indeed the cable or plug connection to the water valve. However, diagnosing the exact location and performing the repair yourself might be tricky without proper tools and experience. I'd recommend visiting a workshop to get it checked professionally.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the water valve and a defective plug connection. The repair cost 95€.

I also own a Matrix. I had similar symptoms and an error code related to the cooling system. It could be a defective water valve or related wiring. Have you checked the engine coolant level?
