My 2002 Hyundai Matrix with a gasoline engine is running rough with 182320 km on the clock. It stalls, the check engine light is on, and it jerks when accelerating. Could it be an ignition coil, cable, or plug issue? Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Matrix. Rough running, check engine light, the whole shebang. Have you had the vehicle diagnostics done?

Diagnostics? Not yet. What was the problem with your Matrix? Was it the ignition coil, and if so, which one?

After the vehicle diagnostics, the workshop confirmed it was the ignition coil and they told me the cable or plug connection of the component was defective. So, it's best to get it checked out at a workshop.
