Matrix rough running and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Hyundai Matrix is experiencing rough running, stalling, and a check engine light, possibly due to issues with the ignition coil, cable, or plug. A similar problem was resolved by diagnosing and confirming a defective ignition coil and connection. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop, which successfully resolved the issue for another owner.

Diagnostics? Not yet. What was the problem with your Matrix? Was it the ignition coil, and if so, which one?

After the vehicle diagnostics, the workshop confirmed it was the ignition coil and they told me the cable or plug connection of the component was defective. So, it's best to get it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks! I booked it in at the workshop and you were spot on! Defective ignition coil, cable or plug connection was defective! Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now. Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Matrix. Rough running, check engine light, the whole shebang. Have you had the vehicle diagnostics done?
