Maverick Hybrid brake light issue

I'm having trouble with my 2021 Ford Maverick Hybrid. I think it might be a bad brake light switch. It has about 84525 kilometers on it. I keep getting an error in the system memory, and the brake lights sometimes don't work, which also triggers a message on the infotainment screen. I checked the bulbs, and they're fine. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds frustrating! I had something kinda similar happen in my 2016 Opel Insignia. Brake lights were acting up, and the computer threw a fit. Did you check the connection to the brake light switch itself? Sometimes those connectors get loose or corroded.

Thanks for the idea. I didn't think about the connection. Could you tell me where the connector is and how to check it?

Sure thing. On my Insignia, the brake light switch was right above the brake pedal. Look for a small switch with a plunger that gets pressed when you release the brake pedal. The connector should be right there. Give it a wiggle, see if anything changes. If not, maybe time to visit a workshop and have them properly diagnose it.

I appreciate the insight. Turns out it was the brake light switch. The technician at the workshop said it wasn't adjusted right because of something I did, which caused the problem. They fixed it for free. Thanks again for your help.
