Maxima Coolant Level Low

My 2018 Nissan Maxima with a gasoline engine has 236249 km on it. The check engine light came on, and the error code says the coolant level is low. I checked the reservoir, and it's below the minimum. Any ideas?

Ugh, that sucks! I had something similar with my old BMW, though a different engine. Started getting the engine light, kept adding coolant. Turned out to be a slow coolant leak. Have you checked around the water pump or radiator for any signs of leakage? Maybe even around the hoses?

Thanks for the insight! You mentioned a coolant leak. Where exactly did you find it on your BMW? I'm not super mechanically inclined, so any specifics would be helpful.

Yeah, for sure! Mine was a tiny pinhole leak in the radiator itself, right where the plastic end tank met the metal core. It was hard to spot at first. But honestly, if you aren't comfortable poking around too much, I'd take it to a workshop. They can pressure test the system and find the leak pretty quickly.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to a local shop, and they found a small leak in one of the hoses connected to the coolant reservoir. Replaced the hose and refilled the system. Cost me about 52€. Check engine light is now off. Thanks again!
