Thanks! Do you remember where the defective cable or plug was located in your Volvo? Knowing the general area would help me narrow down the search on my Maxima.

The issue in my Volvo was inside the dashboard, near the headlight switch. A technician found a loose connector causing the electrical problems. Given your car's mileage (188052 km), I'd recommend a workshop. A faulty cable or plug can be hard to find, and you could cause more damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a technician, and it was a faulty plug connection on the light switch. The repair, including the new connector, cost 95€.

I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The symptoms were almost identical. It turned out to be a bad cable or plug connection in the lighting system. Check the wiring harness and connectors for the headlight switch and lighting circuits. Look for loose connections or damaged wires.
