Mazda 2 2015 Petrol Model Brake Light Issue - Seeking Advice and Mechanic Experiences

Brake light not working

Hey guys, I've got some issues with my 2015 Mazda 2 with the petrol engine that's clocked up about 220k on the dial. My brake light ain't coming on. I'm suspecting it has to do with some "Brake light signal implausible" issue. Anybody had a similar problem and can give me some insight into what might be going on? Also, how'd your mechanic handle it? Last time I had a rough experience, so I'd be grateful for a heads-up. Thanks!

Hey there! Had a similar situation with my 2018 Mazda 3 not long ago. Damn brake light wasn't working. Exactly same error - "Brake light signal implausible". Turned out it was a glitch in the electrical system messing with the brake light circuit. Thankfully, wasn't nothing too serious. Just needed some time at the garage for diagnostics and fixing. They ended up replacing the sensor after a bit of poking around, and voila, my brake light issue was history. It's a sass of a process but pretty manageable as long as you're dealing with a competent mechanic. Hope this helps!

Hey, cheers for the info! It gives me a bit of peace of mind knowing it's nothing too hairy. Do you recall the cost of having this problem sorted? Also, did any other issue crop up after the sensor replacement? Fingers crossed, I hope not!

Hey! So, here's the thing - fixing that pesky "Brake light signal implausible" issue didn't cost me a dime! Yeah, you got that right - 0.00 €! Apparently it was some personal error that had messed things up. Once the problem was identified, it was about as easy as pie to get things sorted. My mechanic did a bang-up job without charging me an arm and a leg. As for your second question my Mazda 3 has been running smoother than a gravy sandwich ever since the fix. No more issues, fingers crossed! Good luck with yours and hope you'll also sail through it without any problems.
