Mazda Axela 2014 Brake and ABS Issues: Seeking Advice and Shared Experiences

Brake light not working

ABS/DSC system is not working

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS warning light

Unresponsive brake pedal

Hey! I'm currently wrangling a bit with my 2014 Mazda Axela, Gasoline engine model. She's got quite a bit of wear and tear now with 148620 KM on the clock, and just recently, she's been giving me a headache with several problems cropping up. My ABS warning light isn't turning off, my brake pedal's playing dead, the ABS/DSC system doesn't seem to be working, brake light's being a couch potato, and the ol' speedometer's flashing a warning light at me. I've got this hunch it might be a dodgy brake pedal position sensor acting up, given the symptoms. Has anyone else had these issues? And how did your mechanic manage to pin and sort it out? Hoping for a somewhat less pain in the neck experience than my last visit to the shop. Appreciate any of your shared experiences!

Hey! I can relate to you with Mazda issues. I'm driving a 2011 Mazda3 myself and experienced something similar a while back. Just like your Axela, my ABS light wouldn't turn off. And oh boy, the brake pedal - it was acting like it wanted to take a permanent vacation. Gave me quite a scare, I tell ya. There were no warnings on my speedometer though. At first, I thought it might be some minor sensor glitch that needed resetting. But when I took it to my garage and explained the symptoms, the mechanic had a deep dive into it. Turns out, it wasn't just a sensor playing up - there was also an issue with the braking system's hydraulic hub. They didn't just reset the brake pedal position sensor, but also had to replace a few ABS system components, which was some serious stuff. It's not every day you deal with a hydraulic hub issue, let alone in tandem with a dud brake sensor. Long story short, don't shrug off your car's cries for help, regardless of how minor the problems may seem at first. Check all ABS and DSC system components, not just the brake pedal position sensor. If the SID is showing a problem here, it might be letting other issues slide under the radar. It was a hefty bit of work to get my Mazda3 up to speed again, but worth it for the peace of mind. Best of luck with your Axela. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hey, good to hear from a fellow Mazda driver. Your story gives me a heads up on what I might be dealing with. Sounds like it wasn't just a walk in the park, right? I'm curious, though - do you recall how much the repairs set you back? Replacing ABS system components along with fixing a hydraulic hub issue surely got your wallet a bit lighter. And since you got everything sorted, has anything else popped up, or has your Mazda3 been behaving well? Hoping to get my Axela up and running smoothly again soon. Thanks for the advice.

Hey, good to chat again. Heh, you got that right, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park. But hey, all's well that ends well, right? As for the cost, I was pretty lucky on that front. Turns out, the brake pedal position sensor problem was actually due to a personal error - I know, I felt quite silly when I found out. Good news for me though, it didn't cost anything to rectify. So my wallet didn't take a hit there, luckily. The ABS components and the hydraulic hub issue, now that was a different story. But it's all smooth sailing since those fixes. My Mazda3 has been as good as gold since the visit to the shop. Almost made me forget about the troubles in the first place. And I reckon it's worth it for the peace of mind and a reliable ride. Best of luck getting your Mazda Axela back on track. And hey, don't forget to update us on the progress, yeah? Cheers!

Hey again! Good to know that your Mazda 3 is behaving well post-repairs, sounds like quite a relief! It's kinda funny about the personal error with the brake pedal sensor - I will definitely keep that in mind. But yes, I can just imagine how your heart must've leapt with joy when you figured it wasn't gonna cost a penny. What a twist, huh? About the hydraulic hub and ABS components, I've braced myself for the punch that might hit my wallet. But you're right, at the end of the day, safety and peace of mind are paramount. I'll have a chat with my mechanic about all this and see how it goes. Will keep you posted. Cheers!
