Hey! I appreciate your input. You got me thinking! I'll make sure to mention the wiring harness when I take my Mazda in. May I ask how much you had to shell out for the wiring harness fix? Did you notice any other problems pop up after sorting it out? Thanks again for your help. Cheers!

Hey again, Followed your advice and I'm glad I did! Had my mechanic check both the wiring harness and the fuel level sensor. Sure enough, the Wiring harness/plug was defective. Got it fixed and at a cost of 95.00 € no less, not bad, right? And for the good news, that pesky fuel level sensor malfunction was sorted out since speaking to the mechanic! Oh, the relief! In terms of any 'new' problems, so far, so good! No smoke signals or weird smells from the exhaust yet and the engine's been humming nicely. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it stays this way. Appreciate your tip. Really helped out. Good luck with your ride too! Cheers!

Hey! Great to hear that your Mazda's finally sorted! 95.00 € for a wiring harness fix isn't bad at all, especially if it makes all the difference, right? Sounds like you've got a decent mechanic there. Hopefully, those problems are a thing of the past now. Here's to your ride running smoothly from here on out. Take care! Cheers! Hey there, Thanks for the morale boost and wishes! Yeah, it sure feels good to have these worries off my shoulders. Car seems to be in a better mood now, all thanks to your advice. Certainly believe I've found a keeper in this mechanic. Cheers to good rides and even better company! Wishing your ride all the best too. Take care!

Hey there, Interesting you mentioned the fuel level sensor, I've got a 2013 Mazda 3 and ran into a fairly similar situation but in my case, it wasn't the sensor causing the trouble. My engine light was on too with similar erratic behavior. Inconsistent engine function, crazy fuel consumption, the works. Turned out to be a defective wiring harness/plug on mine. The mechanic had to go in and replace the entire wiring harness, might sound scary but it was actually a fairly straightforward fix. I gotta say, though, it definitely made all the difference in how my car handled afterward. No more unstable engine, no more increased fuel use. It’s definitely worth mentioning to your mechanic to check the wiring harness along with the sensor. Sometimes these intermittent issues come down to a faulty connection somewhere along the line. Good luck!
