Megane ABS Failure Lateral Acceleration Sensor

My 2011 Renault Megane (gasoline engine) has an ABS System Failure message and the ABS lamp is on. A scan reveals an error related to the lateral acceleration sensor. I suspect the control unit is defective. Has anyone encountered something similar? Estimates suggest around 1000€ to fix.

I had something similar happen in my Megane. ABS light, stability control errors. Was the lateral acceleration sensor, same as you. Does the car feel unstable when cornering?

Was your issue definitively the control unit itself, or was it perhaps a wiring or sensor problem? Did the symptoms manifest intermittently at first, or was it a sudden, constant failure?

It was the unit. The workshop diagnosed it pretty quickly. They checked the wiring first, but the sensor itself was kaput. Honestly, just take it to a trusted workshop; they'll know for sure.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems I'm facing a similar situation. I shall heed your advice and entrust my Megane to a workshop for a thorough diagnosis. I was hoping it was a simple fix, but alas, it seems a costly repair is in order.
