Megane Hybrid Lean Engine Rough Running
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Megane hybrid is experiencing a lean engine condition, leading to a significant drop in power, rough running, and violent jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion is a defective injection valve or injector. A similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty fuel injector, which restored smooth engine operation. Checking the air-fuel ratio and inspecting components like the throttle body and mass air flow sensor are recommended steps to diagnose and address the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thank you for your reply! I have not checked the air-fuel ratio yet, but I will do that right away. I did not notice any unusual smells. How did you resolve the issue you had with your Megane? Was it also related to the fuel injection system?

Yes, the root cause of my Megane's problem was a faulty fuel injector. The symptoms were nearly identical to what you described. After replacing the injector, the engine ran smoothly again. Given your symptoms and my experience, I would strongly advise you to have your local workshop check the fuel injectors as well.

I appreciate your input, I will take it to the shop. After diagnosis, it turned out to be a defective injector, just as suspected. The repair cost me 515€, but now it runs smoothly again! Thank you so much for the help!

I had a similar experience with my Megane. The symptoms sound awfully familiar. Did you check the air-fuel ratio? A lean condition can trigger the check engine light and cause rough running. I would start by inspecting the throttle body and mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Have you noticed any unusual smells, possibly indicating catalytic converter issues? These problems might also be related.
