Thank you for your insights. I have not checked the wiring harness for short circuits, but that is a good suggestion. As for the voltage readings, I will have to check those again. What was the resolution for the issue with your BMW?

In my case, it ended up being a faulty circuit breaker. It was causing an intermittent power cut to the starter. Think of it like a flickering lightbulb, sometimes it gets power, sometimes it doesn't. Given the cost of components and specialized diagnostics, especially with hybrids, it is advisable to consult with a qualified technician. The charging system is as complex as the nervous system of the human body.

Interesting issue. I had something similar happen with my 2016 BMW 3 Series a while back. Intermittent starting problems can be tricky. Have you checked for any obvious signs of a short circuit in the wiring harness or the starter motor itself? What's the voltage reading on your battery when the car is off, and during attempted starts?
