Megane Windshield Washer Heater Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Megane hybrid owner experienced issues with the windshield washer heater, receiving an error and having the spray nozzles freeze in cold weather. The fluid level was adequate, and the nozzles were not blocked, leading to the suspicion of a faulty cable or plug connection to the heater. It was suggested to check the voltage at the heater connector, located near the washer fluid reservoir, to identify any wiring issues. Ultimately, a workshop visit confirmed a defective plug connection, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Good idea about the voltage! I haven't had time to test it yet. Where's the heater connector located? And yes, the washer fluid is rated to -25°C, so it's probably not the fluid.

Okay, fluid's ruled out. The heater connector on the Megane is usually near the washer fluid reservoir, often on the washer motor. Given the error codes, it might be best to take it to a workshop to avoid more damage.

Thanks! I appreciate you confirming the connector location. I took it to the workshop on Monday. They found a defective plug connection and fixed it for 95€. All good now.

That's frustrating! I haven't seen that on a Megane, but heater issues are annoying. A faulty connection is likely. Have you checked the voltage at the heater connector when the washer is on? If no voltage, tracing the wiring might show a break. Is your washer fluid rated for the temperatures you're seeing?
