Mercedes A Klasse Diesel Starting Issues

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my A Klasse too. Weak starts, lights going all disco on me - it was a nightmare! I never thought much about battery maintenance before, tbh. Is the battery charge showing as low? I'm no expert, but have you had the battery health checked recently? I wonder if it is definitely the battery sensor? Could just be the battery?

The battery charge seems okay when I check the display, but maybe it's lying to me? How did you figure out it was the battery sensor for sure? And roughly, what did the repair set you back? I am trying to understand the battery health and what to do.

Honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. Took it to the shop, and they ran some diagnostics. They said the battery sensor was sending wonky signals, messing with the whole charging system. Probably best to get it checked out by a pro, just to be sure. The repair cost me around 315€, parts and labor included. Not cheap, but better than getting stranded!
