That sounds frustrating I had a similar sensor issue with my old Audi, but it was the crankshaft position sensor I had rough idling and occasional stalling Have you checked the wiring harness for damage or corrosion Wiggle the connector while the engine is running carefully to see if it stumbles more That would indicate a loose connection

That's a good idea about wiggling the connector What kind of damage should I look for on the wiring harness I'm not an expert Was the crankshaft position sensor issue on your Audi caused by wiring or the sensor itself

By damage, I mean frayed wires, cracked insulation, or corrosion on the connector pins Use a magnifying glass In my case, it was a corroded connector pin I cleaned it and applied dielectric grease, which helped temporarily Eventually, I replaced the sensor and connector, as the corrosion returned Given the symptoms and error code, I'd take it to a workshop They can diagnose it properly and ensure the camshaft position is correctly aligned if they replace the sensor Better safe than sorry with a hybrid

Thanks for the advice Wiggling the connector didn't help I took it to the workshop, and you were right Corroded connector pins to the camshaft position sensor They cleaned it, and the rough idling and reduced engine power are gone The bill was 95€, including a new connector and labor The check engine light is off, and the car is running smoothly again I appreciate the help
