Sun blind malfunction in my 2023 Mercedes A Klasse hybrid The sun blind has stopped working it won't retract or extend It’s just stuck in one position The error memory shows an error related to the sun blind My mechanic thinks the motor is defective Has anyone experienced something similar Is a sunshade repair possible I really need the UV protection especially for the car interior during the summer

Oh man that sucks I had a similar problem with the car blind in my old BMW different model though The symptoms sound identical My mechanic said the motor was likely the culprit Sun blinds are great for UV protection but when they fail they are a pain Did your mechanic give you a cost estimate

Yes the mechanic gave me an estimate of around 330€ for the sun blind repair which seems a bit steep I was wondering if you ended up replacing the entire sun blind unit or if there was a way to repair just the motor Also did your error memory also store an error

330€ sounds about right unfortunately In my case they had to replace the whole assembly The motor is usually integrated into the sun blind unit Yes there was an error code stored in the system specifically pointing to a faulty motor in the sun blind If your mechanic is sure it's the motor I'd trust their assessment Maybe get a second opinion but probably best to visit the workshop

Thanks for sharing your experience I appreciate the info I decided to go ahead with the sunshade repair at the workshop Hopefully this will solve the issue At least the car interior will be protected again
