No recent work done, which is frustrating Where is this fog sensor located Could I check myself for a loose connection or corrosion, or would I cause more trouble

Given your description and the potential for complications, self-diagnosis might not be best The fog sensor's location can vary, and improper handling could worsen the issue Considering the impact on visibility and climate control, I recommend a diagnostic check at a qualified workshop A repair cost of 95€ seems reasonable for a faulty connection

Thanks, I appreciate the advice I took it to a shop, and you were right It was a corroded connector on the sensor They cleaned it, and everything works again Worth the 95€ to avoid messing something up myself

The symptoms you describe suggest a potential issue with the fog sensor or its wiring A defective cable or plug connection is a plausible cause, considering the interconnected systems The fog sensor provides input to the climate control system, affecting air conditioning, spray nozzle operation, and mirror heating Has the vehicle had any recent repairs or maintenance that might have disturbed the wiring harness
