Mercedes AMG GT Steering Problem

Experiencing steering issues with my 2020 Mercedes AMG GT Hybrid showing 148739 km Increased steering effort and noticeable steering wheel vibration Diagnostics point to a potentially defective steering angle sensor possibly due to faulty coding Could this be related to alignment or traction control?

I had a similar issue with my AMG GT The vibrating steering wheel and increased steering effort sound familiar It could be the angle sensor messing with the traction control system Have you noticed any warning lights on the dash When was the last wheel alignment That can cause weird steering issues

There were warning lights related to the traction control system It has been approximately 30000 km since the last wheel alignment Could an alignment issue manifest so abruptly

30000 km is a decent amount of driving I wouldn't rule out the wheel alignment completely Since you have traction control lights it’s highly likely the angle sensor In my case the sensor replacement fixed everything I'd advise getting it checked out by a qualified workshop They can pinpoint the exact cause and ensure proper sensor replacement and coding

The issue was indeed the coding of the steering angle sensor Sensor replacement and recalibration were performed and the problems have been resolved The repair cost aligned with the initial estimate of 195€
