Mercedes B Klasse damping adjustment fault

My 2009 Mercedes B Klasse with a gasoline engine, at 155487 km, is showing a damping adjustment fault. The error is stored, the warning light is on, and the ride is bumpy. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this car damping issue?

Bumpy ride, eh? Sounds familiar. I've got a B Klasse too, and had a similar suspension issue. Was the car suspension feeling stiff, even on smooth roads? Did you check all the relevant fuses first? That's always the easiest thing to check before diving deeper.

Stiff is a good way to describe it. How did you pinpoint the exact problem with your vehicle suspension? Any specific areas I should focus on when checking those cable connections?

Pinpointing it was a pain, not gonna lie. I initially thought suspension tuning was the issue. Given the error codes and symptoms, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. I replaced some parts and it still didn't fix it. They'll have the right tools to diagnose the damping control system properly. It cost me 95€.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop. Turned out to be a corroded connector, just like we suspected. Replaced it, cleared the error, and the ride is back to normal. Thanks again!
