Mercedes B Klasse diesel engine light and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes B Klasse diesel with 22,609 km exhibited an engine light, reduced power, and smoke during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a diesel filter issue. A workshop confirmed the problem was a defective diesel particulate filter, which was replaced to resolve the issue.

How did you check if it was a sensor fault? I thought a vehicle inspection would be the only way to be sure about the diesel filter.

I didn't check it myself, the workshop did. They said the engine light and smoke pointed to the diesel filter being defective, which caused the reduced power. Definitely get it checked.

Thanks. It was indeed the diesel particulate filter, cost me 1550€. At least it's fixed now.

Sounds like a DPF issue. I had similar symptoms with my B Klasse, regeneration didn't solve it. Any chance it could be a sensor fault?
