Mercedes B Klasse Hybrid Electronic Parking Brake Failure

My 2022 Mercedes B Klasse hybrid electronic parking brake has failed Dashboard warning light is on and error memory has a fault I suspect a defective electric motor in the brake calliper Has anyone else experienced this I'm looking at a potential repair bill of around 505€ and the mileage is 153922 km Is this a common issue or could it be a system glitch I've done some basic brake diagnostics myself but I'm not getting anywhere

I understand your frustration with the electronic parking brake malfunction While I cannot definitively diagnose your vehicle remotely I can offer some insights based on a similar experience I had with my B Klasse The symptoms you describe suggest a potential issue with the electric motor within the brake calliper Have you scanned the car for any stored error codes Also did you check the fuses

Yes I did scan for error codes and that's how I found the initial fault pointing towards the calliper motor I also checked the relevant fuses and they seem to be fine Was your issue also related to the electric motor and what was the eventual fix

My issue mirrored yours precisely After extensive brake diagnostics the workshop confirmed the electric motor within the parking brake calliper was indeed defective Considering the potential implications for brake control and overall safety and given that you have already checked the basic components I would strongly advise against attempting a DIY repair I recommend that you take your B Klasse to a qualified Mercedes-Benz technician for a comprehensive inspection and repair

Thanks again for sharing your experience It sounds like I'm on the right track suspecting the calliper motor I'll book it in with a Mercedes specialist to get it sorted Hopefully it's just a straightforward replacement and that 505€ estimate holds up I appreciate the advice
