Mercedes B Klasse Hybrid Engine Trouble

My 2022 Mercedes B Klasse hybrid is acting up The check engine light is on, power is down, and it's running rough My tool says it's the intake air temperature sensor Could this sensor really cause all these issues

The symptoms you describe certainly align with a malfunctioning intake air temperature IAT sensor The engine control unit ECU relies on the IAT sensor to measure the temperature of the air entering the engine This information is crucial for calculating the correct air-fuel mixture When the IAT sensor provides inaccurate readings, the ECU may compensate with an incorrect fuel mixture which can lead to reduced power, rough running, and the check engine light Can you confirm the specific error code that your diagnostic tool is reporting Also, have you checked the wiring and connector to the IAT sensor for any signs of damage or corrosion

Thanks The error code is P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Input I glanced at the wiring, and it looks okay, but I did not check it thoroughly What should I be looking for exactly Is it like when your computer is slow, and you just need to restart it

The P0113 code confirms a high input signal from the IAT sensor circuit, suggesting either a faulty sensor or a wiring issue While a quick visual inspection is helpful, a more detailed check is necessary Look for broken or frayed wires, loose connections, or corrosion within the connector A multimeter can be used to test the continuity of the wiring and the voltage signal from the sensor However, given your description and the error code, it is most likely the IAT sensor itself Considering the complexity of modern engine management systems, I would recommend taking your Mercedes to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair Continuing to drive with a faulty IAT sensor can potentially cause further engine issues

Thanks I took it to the workshop You were right, it was the IAT sensor Total cost was 155€, including the sensor and labor Runs like new now
