Mercedes B Klasse hybrid issues

My 2023 Mercedes B Klasse hybrid is acting up I'm getting higher fuel consumption the engine stalls at idle sometimes and the check engine light is on Plus I noticed some smoke when accelerating I'm thinking it might be the mass air flow meter any thoughts

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Mercedes B Klasse hybrid is experiencing higher fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, and a check engine light, with smoke during acceleration. These issues suggest a malfunctioning mass air flow (MAF) sensor. A clean air filter rules out blockage as a cause, reinforcing the likelihood of a faulty MAF sensor. A diagnostic assessment at a workshop confirmed the MAF sensor as the problem, and replacing it resolved the issues.

The symptoms you described are indicative of a potential issue with the mass air flow MAF sensor I experienced a similar predicament with my B Klasse The increased fuel consumption coupled with engine stalling and the illumination of the check engine light all point towards a malfunctioning MAF sensor Have you inspected the air filter recently A clogged filter can sometimes contribute to MAF sensor issues by disrupting the air intake

Air filter is clean I checked that first You mentioned a similar issue Was it definitely the MAF sensor for you Anything else I should be looking at before I start throwing parts at it

In my case the diagnostic assessment confirmed the MAF sensor as the root cause Given the symptoms elevated fuel consumption unstable idling check engine indication and visible emissions it is highly probable that the MAF sensor is defective Considering the technical complexities involved I would recommend a visit to a qualified automotive workshop for comprehensive diagnostics

Thanks I appreciate the advice I took it to a workshop and you were right It was the MAF sensor It cost me 365€ all in but the car's running perfectly again
