Mercedes B Klasse hybrid windshield wipers not working

I had a look around the steering column, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I couldn't see anything obvious like a broken wire. I don't have the error code right now, but I can get it from the mechanic. Would knowing the error code definitely point to the issue, and should I check the wiper blade itself?

The error code will provide a more precise indication of the fault. While a visual inspection is helpful, intermittent faults can be difficult to detect without diagnostic tools. Given the symptoms and the mechanic's assessment, it's advisable to proceed with their recommended repair, especially considering the relatively low cost of 95€. The wiper blade condition is likely unrelated to the electrical fault.

I took your advice and went ahead with the repair. It turned out to be a loose connection at the wiper switch, just like the mechanic suspected. They resecured the connection, and now the windshield wipers are working perfectly again. I appreciate you confirming that it was the most likely cause and that the car wipers are now working as they should be!

Based on your description, a defective cable or plug connection at the wiper switch is a plausible cause. Have you inspected the steering column area for any visible damage or loose connections? Can you provide the exact error code stored in the error memory? This information could assist in narrowing down the potential fault.
