Mercedes C Klasse Automatic Lock Issue

My 2007 Mercedes C Klasse gasoline vehicle has an issue with the automatic locks not working. Diagnosis points to a faulty door contact signal, preventing the doors from locking or unlocking. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection at the door switch. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my C Klasse. The door latch seemed fine, but the automatic locks were acting up. I'm no expert, but someone mentioned it could be a car sensor issue related to the door switch. Is the 'door switch' the same as the 'door contact signal' your mechanic mentioned? If so, it might be a common issue. It's frustrating when the automatic locks fail, especially since they're supposed to make things easier. I hope you figure it out.

Thank you for the information. You mention a 'car sensor issue'. Could you elaborate on the specific sensor involved? I want to give the workshop as much information as possible.

I'm afraid I don't have more concrete details. As I said I am no expert, just a frustrated car owner. I would advise you to consult your workshop, so the contact signal can be verified. Sorry I cannot be of greater assistance.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The issue was indeed a defective contact signal due to a faulty plug connection. The repair, including parts and labour, amounted to 95€. The automatic locks are now functional.
