Mercedes C Klasse Battery Sensor Issue

I suspect a faulty car battery sensor in my 2007 Mercedes C Klasse with a diesel engine. The symptoms include a weak battery when starting and weak or flickering lights. Could a defective battery sensor cause these issues?

Alright, no battery testing yet. Finding that battery sensor can be a bit of a hunt, it varies by model, but it's usually attached to the negative terminal of the car battery. I took my vehicle to a workshop based on the advice. They confirmed a defective battery sensor. The repair cost was 315€. The issue is now resolved.
