Mercedes Citan audio system failure MOST bus fault

The car diagnostics report did not specify the exact control unit causing the issue. The error message was rather generic, indicating a fault within the MOST bus network. Considering the potential for multiple control units to be involved, how did you pinpoint the faulty module in your vehicle? Was it a process of elimination, or did your mechanic have specific car electronics diagnostic tools to identify the culprit?

Okay, so my guy used some fancy car diagnostics tool that could 'talk' to each module on the MOST bus. He basically went through each one, checking for responses. The faulty one didn't respond at all. Honestly, it sounded like tech wizardry to me! If they can't tell which one is bad, you might be looking at a lot of trial and error, and money. Maybe get a second opinion? Definitely go to the workshop.

I appreciate the information regarding your experience. It confirms my suspicion that a targeted diagnostic approach is essential. I will seek a second opinion and specifically inquire about the diagnostic methods they employ to isolate the faulty control unit. Your input has been invaluable in guiding my next steps. I will post information once the issue is resolved.

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Mercedes, though it's not a Citan. My audio system went totally dead, and the nav was useless. Did the garage mention anything about which control unit might be faulty? For me, it turned out to be a module in the back. Is it possible it's the same issue?
