Mercedes Citan Intake Manifold Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mercedes Citan diesel exhibited symptoms such as reduced engine power, rough running, jerking acceleration, hissing during acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, potentially linked to the intake manifold flap control. These issues were confirmed by another individual who experienced similar problems, suggesting an intake system issue affecting airflow control. Diagnostics at a workshop confirmed the intake manifold flap control as the cause, and after repair, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Yes, the engine light is on. Was it the intake manifold itself or something else related to the intake system? Trying to narrow it down before I commit to the repair.

Mine was the intake manifold flap control, just like you suspect. I'd say get it checked at a workshop. They can confirm with diagnostics. It's likely the same issue.

Thanks for confirming. Took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the intake manifold flap control. Repair cost was as expected. Running much better now.

That sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Citan. Reduced power and jerking were the big giveaways. Did the engine light come on? For me, it was definitely an intake system issue, impacting airflow control.
