Mercedes Citan won't start: Looking for experience and advice on repairing the ignition starter switch

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Mercedes Citan (diesel, 2017 with 75881 KM on the clock). Recently, the ignition has stopped turning on and the car simply won't start. I suspect a fault with the ignition starter switch, but didn't have a good experience with my mechanic last time. Is there anyone here who has had similar problems and can tell me about their experience with the repair? I would really appreciate your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Mercedes Vito. It turned out that the wiring harness was defective. The symptoms sound very similar, the car just wouldn't start, just like yours. During the repair, the entire wiring harness was replaced. It was a serious matter, but I haven't had any more problems since. So I would recommend having it checked by a professional. Maybe your Mercedes just needs a new wiring harness. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Your experience has really helped me. Do you remember how much the repair cost you? And has any other problem entered college since replacing the wiring harness? If so, I'd be really interested in any further developments. Thanks in advance, buddy!

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! I paid €95 for the wiring harness problem. Since the repair, however, I haven't had any more problems with the ignition starter switch, so the fault was actually rectified. Your Mercedes should run like clockwork again after the repair. Good luck with that, buddy!

Wow, €95 sounds like a fair price! I'm relieved to hear that your Mercedes has been running smoothly since the repair. Your reply gives me hope that my problem can be fixed too. I will definitely see a professional and have them check the wiring harness. Thanks again for the info and your helpful advice, buddy!
