Mercedes CLA Diesel Car Alarm Malfunction

My Mercedes CLA 2019 diesel has a malfunctioning anti-theft alarm system with an error stored in memory I suspect the alarm control is coded to activate the optical locking Has anyone else experienced this

Whoa, sounds frustrating I had a similar car alarm fiasco with my old Peugeot It turned out to be a dodgy alarm sensor Did you check all the door sensors and the hood sensor Maybe one of them is sending a false alarm signal Could be worth a quick look before you spend too much

Thanks for the tip When you say 'dodgy alarm sensor', do you mean physically broken, or is it more of an electrical issue I'm not sure where to start looking for these sensors Any advice on locating them, or what I should be looking for specifically

Yeah, in my case with the Peugeot, it looked fine, but the connection was corroded Gave me all sorts of false alarms They're usually near the door latches and under the hood near the latch mechanism Honestly, though, if it's coded wrong, you might be better off just taking it to a workshop Seems like you've already done some digging yourself

Thanks, I appreciate the help You were right; I took it to the workshop, and it turns out the alarm control unit had been incorrectly configured during some previous work They recoded it, and it's working perfectly now Cost me 45€, which is a lot less than a new car Thanks again for your advice
