Serpentine belt, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. I just assumed it was the alternator going bad. But if the belt is worn, could that really cause all these problems, including the engine misfire symptoms and battery low issues?

It certainly can! When my serpentine belt went, it caused all sorts of chaos with the alternator, which lead to similar issues with starting and power. If the belt is slipping, the alternator won't charge the battery properly. I suggest getting it checked by a professional workshop as soon as possible. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks for the insight. I appreciate the advice about the serpentine belt. I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on! The belt was worn, causing the alternator to malfunction. Got the alternator replaced and a new belt fitted. Runs like a dream now. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

That sounds like a terrible ordeal! I had a similar alternator issue with my CLA. Were you experiencing any issues with the serpentine belt, because that can sometimes cause the alternator to fail? Could that be the reason you're seeing these problems?
