Mercedes CLK rough start and fuel consumption issues

My 2000 Mercedes CLK with a gasoline engine is starting rough and the fuel consumption is up The engine doesn't have the same power and the idle is uneven It has even stalled a couple of times while stopped Could this be a defective injection nozzle or some clogging Is this a common problem Where should I start

Rough starting, higher fuel consumption, reduced power, uneven idling, and stalling do sound like fuel delivery issues Could be a dirty injector Have you checked your fuel filter recently

I haven't checked the fuel filter Where is the fuel filter located Is there any way to test the injectors themselves to confirm they're the problem before I start pulling things apart

Testing fuel injectors usually requires specialized equipment Considering all the symptoms, and you suspecting a fuel issue, it's probably best to take it to a workshop They can diagnose it properly At least you have an idea what it could be

I appreciate the input I took it to a mechanic and you were spot on One of the gasoline injection nozzles was indeed defective, likely from clogging I needed a replacement The repair cost 515€, but the performance is back, and the engine runs smooth again
