Thanks, I'll try that. But how do I know if it's really the pairing? Could it be something more serious, maybe triggering the engine light?

While it could be something more serious, the symptoms definitely point to incorrect pairing, especially if there were no issues with the transmission, ignition system or fuel system beforehand. To be certain, it's best to have the error memory read and cleared by a workshop. They can confirm the cause.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was just an incorrect pairing with the end device. Cost me 45€ to fix.

I had a similar problem with my CLK some time ago. The error memory stored is probably the key here. Have you checked for any restrictions with the steering or transmission? It sounds like the pairing process might be the culprit. It might seem obvious but have you tried unpairing and pairing it again?
