Mercedes E Klasse AC Compressor Issue

My 2013 Mercedes E Klasse diesel, with 264571 km, has an intermittent A/C compressor shut off. The A/C sometimes doesn't switch on, cooling is poor, and there's an error code. Could undervoltage be the cause? Has this happened to anyone?

Undervoltage? Seems unlikely. I had a similar AC problem with my E Klasse. Did you check for a refrigerant leak or the AC relay? What about the pressure sensor? It could be a bad A/C compressor. So many possibilities.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding the refrigerant leak, AC relay, and pressure sensor, what diagnostic steps did you take, or what error codes did you see, that helped you?

No error codes that I recall, but the pressures were way off. I just took it to a workshop after checking the basics. Figured it would save me a headache.

I took the vehicle to a workshop. The issue was undervoltage, as I thought. Replacing a faulty component fixed it. Total cost was 240€.
