Mercedes EQV ABS and Lateral Acceleration Sensor Issue

Has anyone experienced an ABS light and Anti-lock Braking System failure in their 2022 Mercedes EQV Electric vehicle My scan shows an error with the lateral acceleration sensor and I suspect a defective control unit My car has 32509 kilometers on it

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Mercedes EQV experienced an ABS light and Anti-lock Braking System failure, with a diagnostic scan indicating an error with the lateral acceleration sensor. The error code C102000 and an implausible signal from the yaw rate sensor suggested a malfunction in the sensor circuit, likely pointing to a defective control unit. A certified Mercedes-Benz technician confirmed the lateral acceleration sensor within the control unit as the root cause, and replacing the unit along with recalibrating the Electronic Stability Program resolved the issue.

Sounds like the lateral acceleration sensor is indeed the culprit. It's a common problem on some models, and that sensor provides critical input for the ABS, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Traction Control System (TCS). Does the diagnostic scan specify any particular error code relating to the lateral sensor or the yaw rate?

The diagnostic scan identifies the error code C102000, signifying a malfunction within the lateral acceleration sensor circuit. Furthermore, it notes an implausible signal being received from the yaw rate sensor. Does this information provide additional clarity, and does it further reinforce the initial assessment of a defective control unit?

The error code and yaw rate implausibility strongly suggest the lateral sensor is the primary issue, potentially impacting the yaw rate reading. While it's possible it could be a wiring problem, the control unit itself being faulty is more likely. Given the symptoms and the diagnostic findings, I'd advise having it inspected by a qualified technician.

I took the vehicle to a certified Mercedes-Benz technician. The technician corroborated the initial diagnosis, confirming the lateral acceleration sensor within the control unit as the root cause. Replacement of the unit, along with recalibration of the Electronic Stability Program, successfully rectified the issue. The repair cost was 1000€.
