The error message indicates a fault within the electric motor circuit of the parking brake calliper. Did your Opel Insignia exhibit a similar level of detail in its error reporting, or was it more ambiguous?

Mine was vaguer, something about 'electronic parking brake malfunction'. Given that you have a specific fault code pointing to the electric motor, it sounds like that's the problem. I'd say it's best to take it to a workshop. Messing with brakes can be risky, and you don't want to make things worse. They can properly diagnose it and replace the motor if needed.

Following further brake diagnostics confirming the electric motor failure, I replaced it. The repair, costing 505€, has resolved the issue. The parking brake system is now functioning.

Electronic parking brakes! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Insignia. The symptoms sound familiar – warning light, the whole thing. I'm no expert, but did you check the brake sensor connections? Sometimes it's just a glitch or a loose wire causing problems. Before you tear everything apart, maybe give those connections a wiggle and see if anything changes? Is the error message specific or just a generic 'parking brake failure' type of deal?
