Mercedes GLA cold start problems
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mercedes GLA is experiencing cold start problems, with the engine running poorly and starting with difficulty. The issue may be related to a faulty cold start injector or a defective injection valve, as indicated by engine misfires during rough idle. A suggested solution is to perform an injector test to diagnose the problem accurately, as similar cases have been resolved by identifying and replacing faulty injectors.

Thank you for your response. I haven't observed a significant drop in fuel efficiency, but the check engine light does illuminate intermittently. Could you elaborate on how you diagnosed the issue with your GLA? Was an injector test necessary, or were there other indicators that pointed to the fuel injector?

In my case, the check engine light was the main giveaway, along with the rough idle of course. I tried a fuel injector cleaner first, but no luck. Ultimately, I took it to a workshop. They ran an injector test and confirmed one was definitely faulty. Saved me a lot of guesswork. Best bet is to get it properly diagnosed to be sure.

I appreciate your advice. I'll schedule an appointment with my trusted workshop to perform a comprehensive injector test. It seems the most prudent approach. The estimated repair cost is around 515€. Thank you again for sharing your experience and helping me narrow down the problem.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my GLA. Rough idle on cold starts and a bit of hesitation. I'd bet it's your fuel injector. Did you notice any drop in fuel efficiency or a persistent check engine light?
