Mercedes GLC diesel fuel filter heater issue

Has anyone had fuel system issues with a 2022 Mercedes GLC diesel engine I'm getting error related to the fuel filter heater, rough idle, reduced power, and high fuel consumption at 89399 km Repair is estimated at 95€

That sounds frustrating Modern diesel fuel systems can be sensitive Can you share the exact error code you got It might help pinpoint the issue Have you noticed this during cold starts or colder weather The heater prevents fuel gelling in low temperatures An intermittent connection could cause those symptoms Have you checked the fuel filter for damage or leaks

I don't have the error code handy, but the diagnostic tool said a fault in the fuel filter heater circuit The symptoms are worse during cold starts I haven't checked the fuel filter or connections What are the potential consequences of a faulty fuel filter heater How would a defective cable or plug connection look

A faulty fuel filter heater can cause problems Without heating, paraffin wax in diesel fuel can crystallize, leading to fuel gelling This restricts fuel flow, causing rough idle, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption In severe cases, it can prevent the engine from starting For the cable/plug connection, look for corrosion, loose wires, or connector damage Sometimes, a wire might be partially broken inside the insulation Since the error points to the heater circuit and the symptoms worsen in cold weather, take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis They can check the heater's functionality and wiring properly The repair cost seems reasonable

I appreciate the explanation I'll inspect the cable and plug connection Given the complexity, I agree with getting professional diagnostics The issue was a defective cable connection to the fuel filter heater, like the error suggested The repair cost was 95€ The rough idle and other symptoms are resolved
