Thanks, that's helpful. Did your issue also result in a complete ABS failure, and were there any error codes related to the control unit specifically?

Yes, the ABS failed completely, which was unnerving when braking. Initially, the error codes pointed to a general ABS malfunction. Further investigation showed the root cause was a faulty signal from one of the wheel speed sensors, which then cascaded into other system errors. The car's computer gets confused by the incorrect input and throws up warnings. I suggest having them thoroughly investigate the sensors before replacing the entire control unit. If it is the control unit, get it sorted at a workshop.

I appreciate the detailed explanation and advice. I will relay this information to the workshop and request a thorough inspection of the wheel speed sensors before replacing the control unit. It is reassuring to hear of a similar experience and a potential alternative solution. Thank you for your assistance.

I had a similar ABS light issue with my GLE, and the speedometer acted erratically. The odometer also seemed to freeze sometimes. It was a faulty wheel speed sensor. It's a common issue, especially if you drive a lot in wet conditions. Did they check the input from each wheel speed sensor to the ABS unit?
