Mercedes GLE Check Engine Light Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Mercedes GLE owner experienced a check engine light issue, suspecting a problem with the air valve system, possibly due to a bad hose connection causing a vacuum leak. This vacuum leak could affect manifold pressure and potentially lead to engine stalling. Another individual shared a similar experience, suggesting checking for cracks or disconnections in the vacuum hoses and recommended a smoke test to identify the leak. The issue was resolved by fixing a defective hose connection, which turned off the check engine light.

Can you say which specific vacuum hoses were affected in your case? I want to narrow down where the leak might be.

I don't recall the exact location. The issue was found using a smoke test at the workshop. I suggest doing the same. Given the potential impact on engine performance, take your vehicle to a trusted mechanic to find the problem. The repair was about 175€.

I did what you suggested and took the vehicle to a mechanic. They found a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve, causing a vacuum leak. It's fixed, and the check engine light is off. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar issue on my Mercedes. The check engine light was on, and it was a problem with the vacuum hoses. Did you check the hoses for cracks or disconnections? A vacuum leak can affect manifold pressure and cause the engine to stall. When the engine control unit (ECU) detects unexpected manifold pressure, due to unmetered air entering the system (vacuum leak), it will illuminate the check engine light.
