Mercedes GLE Hybrid Engine Issue Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes GLE Hybrid experienced a check engine light, reduced power, and a whistling sound during acceleration, with diagnostics indicating a charge air temperature sensor error. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective cable or plug connection due to high mileage. A workshop visit confirmed the problem as a defective cable connection of the charge air temperature sensor, which was repaired for 95€.

The temperature gauge seems normal but was the error stored in the error memory in your case Did you also have airflow sensor problems Any details would help

Yes the error was stored and the airflow sensor was indirectly affected The charge air temperature sensor is like a warning sign When it fails it often indicates other air intake system issues A workshop visit might be best for a proper diagnosis and to avoid further issues

A workshop visit was indeed the right choice As predicted it was a defective cable connection of the charge air temperature sensor The repair was 95€

I had a similar issue with my GLE though not the hybrid The symptoms sound familiar Check the air intake system thoroughly Is the temperature gauge acting erratically
