Mercedes GLK electrical problems and recalibration

My 2013 Mercedes GLK diesel is acting up The electrical system seems wonky I suspect it's the vehicle software Anyone else seen this

The symptoms you describe are indicative of potential issues within the vehicle's electronic control system The error memory details are important Can you provide the specific error codes retrieved from the onboard diagnostics Have you noticed any other unusual behavior, such as issues with the transmission, engine performance, or any other electrical components

I don't have the exact error codes right now but what exactly does 'recalibration' entail in this situation Is it a simple software revision or are we talking about something more involved with the control module

Recalibration typically involves reprogramming the affected control unit with the correct software parameters Given the general electrical malfunction, it suggests a corrupted or incomplete software load within the control module While it may sound like a simple software revision, the process requires specialized equipment and expertise to ensure proper execution and avoid further complications Considering the potential impact on other vehicle systems and the stored error in the error memory, I recommend having a qualified technician perform the recalibration The estimated cost of 240€ seems reasonable for this type of repair, assuming it addresses the core issue It is possible there are underlying ECU problems that are masked by these symptoms, but a professional diagnosis will be needed

Thanks for the insight Took it to a workshop, they did the recalibration, and it seems to have fixed everything The onboard diagnostics are clear now and the nav system is back I appreciate the confirmation that it was the right track and the cost wasn't outrageous
