Mercedes GLS AC problem diagnosis
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mercedes GLS experienced an air conditioning failure, where the system stopped blowing cold air and wouldn't switch on. The issue was diagnosed as undervoltage in the vehicle, which caused the A/C compressor to shut off. The problem was resolved at a workshop for a cost of 240€.

Squealing? No, the engine sounds normal. Where is the pressure sensor located exactly? Is it something I could check myself, or do I need special tools? Could it be related to the belt tensioner?

Mine didn't make any noise either. Honestly, I'm not sure where it's located. I took mine straight to a workshop. It could be a faulty relay switch, but those are hard to diagnose without proper equipment. Best to get it checked out, especially if you're not familiar with air conditioning systems.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop and it turned out to be undervoltage in the vehicle, causing the A/C compressor to shut off. They fixed it for 240€. Much appreciated!

I had something similar happen with my GLS. Check the pressure sensor. It can cause the whole air conditioning, HVAC system, to shut down if it's faulty. It's a pretty common issue, or so I've heard. Does your engine sound any different, any squealing?
