Mercedes GLS Diesel Door Lock Issue

Door lock problem Mercedes GLS Diesel build year 2015 mileage 174424 km One of the doors won't lock or unlock with the key fob or central locking button The door sensor seems dead Fuses are fine Suspect wiring harness or plug connection to the door sensor Could this affect the car alarm Anyone seen this before

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Mercedes GLS Diesel has a door that won't lock or unlock using the key fob or central locking button, with the door sensor appearing non-functional. The fuses are intact, leading to suspicion of a wiring harness or plug connection issue to the door sensor. This problem could potentially affect the car alarm. A similar issue on a Volvo V90 was caused by a complete wire break in the wiring harness, suggesting that inspecting the wiring for breaks or corrosion could be a solution. The problem was resolved by repairing a defective cable/plug connection to the door sensor.

I understand you're having door locking issues I had a similar problem on a Volvo V90 The symptoms were the same Inspect the wiring harness between the door and the car body A broken wire in that harness is often the cause Check the wiring related to the door sensor Is there any corrosion

Thanks for the insight I suspect the wiring harness too Was it a complete wire break or just a damaged connector on your Volvo Trying to figure out how much work this is Did it affect your car alarm

It was a complete wire break in the wiring harness The insulation failed and the conductor broke The issue didn't affect the car alarm Modern car electrical systems are complex and the door sensor affects multiple systems I suggest consulting a qualified technician to avoid complications during diagnosis and repairs I hope this helps

Appreciate the advice I took it to a workshop It was a defective cable/plug connection to the door sensor as I thought The repair cost was 95€ Thanks again for pointing me the right way
