Mercedes GLS Headlight Range Control Fault

My 2017 Mercedes GLS gasoline adaptive headlights are acting up. I have 134374 km and a headlight range control fault. The error is stored, and the warning light is on. The low beams point too low or too high. I've checked the connectors. I suspect a defective servomotor. Has anyone else experienced something similar? I'm looking at potentially 1040€ for the repair.

Sounds familiar. I also own a GLS and had a similar issue with my lighting system. The light intensity was all over the place. It was annoying.

Really? Was it the servomotor then? Did you have the same symptoms? How was the light intensity behaving?

Yeah, similar symptoms. I didn't get deep into it myself. I just took it to a workshop. Turned out to be something with the headlight itself. They sorted it out.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I went ahead and had it diagnosed. You were right, it was indeed the servomotor in the headlight. Replaced it, and the lighting system is working perfectly again. Cost me a fortune, but at least it's fixed!
