Mercedes GLS Hybrid Overheating Issue Resolved

My 2020 Mercedes GLS hybrid is giving me fits I'm seeing vehicle overheating warnings pop up like crazy My radiator fan seems totally dead I've checked the coolant levels, and they're fine I suspect it might be a bad connection somewhere along the electric motor wiring for the electric fan I'm no mechanic, but I poked around, and the cable and plug look okay, but who knows Could a defective cable or plug really cause full-blown vehicle overheating This is stressing me out

Vehicle overheating can certainly stem from a faulty electric fan Since your Mercedes GLS is a hybrid, the electric fan is crucial for maintaining optimal engine temperature, especially at lower speeds or when the engine isn't generating enough power to drive a conventional fan effectively A defective cable or plug connection disrupting the electric motor's power supply is a plausible cause Have you experienced any recent electrical work or unusual events that might have impacted the fan's wiring I encountered a similar issue with the electric fan exhibiting impaired function It's important to address this promptly to prevent further engine damage due to overheating

Thanks for the reply No recent electrical work that I know of The vehicle overheating just started happening suddenly When you had the similar issue with your radiator fan, what exactly was the problem Was it the wiring harness, the electric motor itself, or something else entirely Any details you can provide would be greatly appreciated

In my situation, a diagnostic assessment confirmed that the issue was indeed attributed to a compromised electrical connection leading to the radiator fan's electric motor While a visual inspection can sometimes reveal obvious damage, internal corrosion or minute fractures within the wiring can be challenging to detect without specialized equipment Considering the potential for consequential damage from persistent vehicle overheating, it is advisable to consult a qualified technician for comprehensive diagnosis and rectification

Thanks so much for the advice I took it to the shop, and you were spot on It was a corroded connector on the electric fan wiring They replaced the connector, and the electric fan is working perfectly now The total repair cost was 95€ No more vehicle overheating I really appreciate your help
