Mercedes GT Roadster Door Lock Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GT Roadster is experiencing issues with the door locks not functioning and a faulty door contact signal, potentially due to a cable or plug connection issue with the door sensor. The problem might be caused by a dodgy door sensor or brittle wiring harness. It is suggested to visually inspect the door latch connection for frayed wires or loose connections and use a multimeter if necessary. The issue was resolved by repairing a broken wire in the door sensor wiring harness, restoring proper door lock functionality.

Good analogy The alarm seems okay otherwise, no random triggers When you say 'check the door latch connection', are we talking visually inspecting the wiring harness for obvious damage, or am I diving into multimeter territory

Visually inspect the wiring first, look for frayed wires or loose connections If nothing jumps out, then yeah, break out the multimeter to check continuity If it's intermittent or you are not comfortable with electrics, it's probably best to take it to a workshop

It was indeed a broken wire in the door sensor wiring harness, just like you thought A quick trip to the shop set me back 95€ and they fixed it Car locks like a dream now

Sounds like a dodgy door sensor Given the mileage, the wiring harness might be getting brittle Check the door latch connection first Is the car alarm acting strangely in any other way Think of it like a garden hose a small kink can stop the whole flow
