Thanks for the quick reply I haven't physically checked the flap movement yet When you say 'seized,' was it corrosion or something else causing the blockage Did you try any lubricant before replacing the whole unit I'm trying to avoid an unnecessary spend if it's something simple Also, did you have any issues with the engine performance before you fixed the problem

In my case, it was a combination of corrosion and carbon buildup that caused the exhaust flaps to seize I tried penetrating lubricant, but it didn't do the trick I didn't want to risk damaging the flap motor further Regarding the engine performance, yes, there was a noticeable dip, especially at lower RPMs It felt like the exhaust system was struggling to breathe Given your symptoms and the error code, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop They can properly diagnose the issue and determine if it's the flap motor or the exhaust flaps themselves It's better to be safe than sorry

Appreciate the advice I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on It was a faulty exhaust flap They replaced it, cleared the error code, and now it sounds normal again Total cost was 190€, which I'm pretty happy with Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with the exhaust valves on my old BMW M3 The symptoms were almost identical: louder exhaust, error codes, and a general feeling of reduced engine performance In my case, it turned out to be a seized exhaust flap Have you tried manually checking the movement of the exhaust flaps See if they're physically stuck or if the flap motor is getting power I would start there
