Thanks for the reply I don't have the exact codes right now, but it definitely points to the intake manifold Where exactly should I be looking for this vacuum leak Is it something I can check myself, or is it too complicated without special tools

Vacuum leaks can be tricky to find If you're not comfortable with engine work, I'd advise taking it to a workshop Scorched intake manifolds on older diesels can be a common issue A gasket leak is quite possible They can smoke test it to pinpoint the exact location

Appreciate the advice I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on It was indeed a defective intake manifold with a leak, likely due to scorching The final bill was 1180€, parts and labor Ouch But at least it's running smoothly now Thanks again

Sounds like a vacuum leak, maybe a gasket leak on the intake manifold Is it throwing any specific codes, or just a general check engine warning If you have a vacuum leak, that would explain the rough running and stalling Have you checked the manifold sensor
